Devon Daniels was a secretary for an accounting firm in Florida when she attracted the attention of Miami-based Gent magazine editor-in-chief John Fox and London-based photographer John Graham. This was in 1988, four years before John and John partnered to produce SCORE magazine.
John and John rented a house in the Bahamas to photograph Devon and Lisa Phillips, a super-stacked Irish natural from Belfast (and another future legend). The date of the first shoot was July 25, 1988.
As Mr. Fox recalled, "The Tropical House was actually a 20-acre estate that we rented for two weeks on Great Exuma Cay. It was the first of our many trips to the Bahamas Out Islands and when we first fell in love with the island chain as a photo location. It was July of 1988 and, as fate would have it, two of the greatest all-natural busters of all-time had been discovered in the same month."
Devon actually only posed for six short months. She immediately became one the top superstars of big-boobdom. This was during a time when few big-bust models did explicit posing, let alone hardcore with guys. (Hardcore XXX sex with penetration did not even exist in newsstand magazines, only on video. That didn't happen until 2000.) Devon's all-naturals, her girl-next-door looks and her curvy body were all the readers wanted. She wouldn't have gone hardcore anyway, by all accounts.
Devon was a Gent covergirl four times and was interviewed in the July '89 issue, a real collector's item.

Gent went out of business in mid-2011 after numerous changes in staff and ownership since Devon's time in the sun. John and John have been looking for the next Devon Daniels ever since. That goal remains a daunting challenge.
