A co-worker recently found an article on the Internet and forwarded it to me. Actually, it was more of a commentary, since it was not based on any credible facts, but instead was written by a woman named Monica Grenfell and was only her very narrow-minded opinion.
It was from Great Britain and was about a young lady who had made it to the final round of the Miss England beauty pageant. What made her especially noteworthy? She isn't a sickly-looking stick figure, that's what. She's a size 12 and wears a size 38DD bra! Ms. Grenfell of course thought it was an atrocity that such an "obese" girl should be regarded by many as beautiful and contest worthy. The writer was outraged that the contestant, whose name is Chloe Marshall, is now admired by many young women who look to her as a role model and realize they don't have to be a single-digit size to be attractive and desirable. The headline of the article called her "fat, lazy and a poster girl for poor health." What crap.
After reading that load of nonsense, I only had to do a little more digging and I soon found several articles on Ms. Marshall and her accomplishments. Most praised her for her courage and her full-figured beauty. There were several photos of her as well, and let me say for the record, she's an absolute doll! There was even a shot of her in a bikini and there is no way that girl is obese. Curvy? Yes. Voluptuous? You bet. Gorgeous? No doubt? Obese? No way.
